The Young Environmentalist Camp program is organized in line with the Malaysian Education Development Plan (PPPM) 2013-2025 where one of the main criteria is to improve the quality of the curriculum especially Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education.

This program focuses on education in a fun activity-based teaching and learning environment to attract students' interest in producing more young generations who are skilled in the field of science and technology.

Apart from that, this program is expected to bring students at the primary school level closer to environmental education where each activity that is carried out introduces students to types of pollution such as solid waste pollution, noise pollution, and water pollution in addition to showing methods of nature conservation environment done by environmental engineers.

Every activity organized is expected to prepare the new generation to bravely face future challenges, resolve conflicts peacefully, make appropriate decisions in critical situations, and have the courage to do what is right.

Young Environmentalist Camp is successfully organized in four consecutive years starting from 2018 until 2022 exclude 2021 due to COVID-19 and control movement order enforced by the government. The Young Environmentalist Camp program was attended by approximately 250 participants from the northern zone covering Perlis, Kedah and Penang. This UNESCO-IHP Malaysia sponsored program received media coverage from the Malaysian public broadcasting service, RTM.

IDEERS 2023 Taipei, Taiwan Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools On 20-24 September 2023, a total of four second-year students of the UR6526001 Civil Engineering program (Cakriron A/L Bon Lot, Suwarnakalisswaren A/L Velayutham, Sriatiqah binti Mohd Jada and Nik Nurul Afiyah binti Wan Zainodin) from FKTA participated in the IDEERS 2023 competition which was held in Taipei, Taiwan. The students were guided by Ir. Dr. Nik Zainab binti Nik Azizan and accompanied by Dr. Farahiyah binti Abdul Rahman. IDEERS (Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools) is an annual competition that challenges students to design and build model structures that can withstand the forces of a simulated earthquake. The competition aims to promote awareness of earthquake engineering and encourage students to pursue careers in this field. During the competition, students are given a set of guidelines and materials to build their models, which are then tested on a shaking table that simulates the effects of an earthquake. Models will be judged on their ability to withstand vibrations and maintain their structural integrity. IDEERS is not only a competition, but also an educational program that provides students with hands-on experience in earthquake engineering and design. Therefore, through this competition, FKTA students who are involved can develop critical thinking skills, team work, and problem-solving abilities while also being able to meet other university students from abroad.
