18 May 2022 - A total of 12 year 4 students from the Environmental Engineering Program, FTKA UniMAP conducted a talk program at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bintong, Perlis to meet the pre-requisites for the subject Engineers for Society led Daniel Bong Kim Boon as the leader of group 5 and 2 Instructors Mrs. Zaity Syazwani and Mrs. Hazirah. The headmaster of SK Bintong, Puan Mazalah @ Mazlah binti Mat is very honored and open in accepting us to run this program. The program was welcomed by the school and a representative speaker from SWCorp, Mrs. Nik Izzah Fasihah.
The program aims to provide information on the concept of 3R and solid waste management to the students of the school, including students in grades Six and Four. Among the essence of the program is also a material design competition by using recycled materials brought by the students themselves.
Unexpectedly, with the creative ideas of the students, very interesting products and items were created such as pencil cases, VR boxes, haunted houses and so on. Student feedback on this program is also very encouraging, and it is hoped that this program is able to open the minds of students to always be smart in recycling.
